CHANGES
by Victoria Ramsey

When I met you I was taken in by your sureness and your quiet demeanor
You wooed me with your attentions to my considerable charms
As my charms wained for you, your quiet demeanor became sullenness
We both retreat into ourselves and tell people that we’re happy
I carry on long conversations in my head and wonder what’s going on in yours
I’m leaving you and you won’t even know that I’m gone
