Watching Blue Paint Peel

Pages turning in my book, I haven’t read a word.
Check my cell phone, it hasn’t rung for days.
Batteries dead.
Staring at that spider all day long.
Just a small spot on the wall.
My clock stopped running weeks ago.
I still check it on the hour.
I really need to go to town,
there’s nothing here to eat.
Mailbox is overfull, fat with unpaid bills.
I can’t find time for everything.
I’m too busy watching blue paint peel.
