A Billion Diamonds

Snowflakes dancing in the moonlight,
twirling, jitterbugging, flying through the night
as streetlights reflect their diamond brilliance.I stand in awe of winters magic as jewels
drift to earth.
Blue snow piles in drifts, light refracted
in headlights glow, prismatic cold blue light.

As a billion tiny diamonds blanket the land
I pull my collar closer, spread my arms out wide
and dance to the rhythm of the blue snow
swirling around me.
