This Storm Shall Pass

Long stormy seasons of tiptoeing through life
trying desperately to avoid the thunderous storms.
Ducking and dodging hands slapping through the air
as though they are lightening strikes.
Prayers sent off to Heaven, begging for storms
end, my tears fall like rain.Soon this storm shall pass, with
promises that it will be the last.
You speak of days of laughter and smiles
as you pretend the elements will change.
No more thunder cracks or lightening slaps
and soon the rains will stop.
And I think, until it comes again…
