Perception

Glorious warm raindrops in ribbons
running down my cheeks
and gliding across my lips
Timidly my tongue tip catches them
They taste of salt like someone’s tears

Sunlight streaming through windows
Dust particles floating on beams
I step into my doorway to feel the heat
as dark clouds obscure the light of the sun
